(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after he robbed Walmart and then fled from store security and Bedford Police officers.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the store at 11:22 p.m. Thursday night.
A loss prevention officer attempted to stop 25-year-old Samuel Harrison but he punched the officer in the stomach and fled from the store.
Harrison got into a vehicle and fled.
Officers were given a description of the vehicle and Harrison. Officers found a vehicle matching the description and attempted to pull over the driver.
At the same time, Harrison, who was driving, tossed a clear plastic container out of the vehicle.
Officers were able to recover the container that contained marijuana and Temazepan.
Harrison was arrested on charges of robbery, battery, theft, resisting arrest by fleeing in a vehicle, possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving a vehicle while never licensed and issued a citation for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
