(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after he allegedly choked a woman and struck her with his closed fist.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to a home in the 800 block of Ninth Street Saturday night.
When police arrived they found that the home had been "trashed."
The woman told police that she and 23-year-old James Inman had been arguing about a Facebook post and that is when he broke a wine bottle against the wall.
Parsley says there was a 6-year-old child present during the fight.
The woman claims that Inman then dragged her out of a bathroom, choked her and then hit her with a closed fist.
The woman left the home with a relative for the night.
Sunday morning, Inman was arrested on charges of battery and domestic battery in the presence of a minor after he went to the Bedford Police Department to give a statement.
