(WAVERLY) - According to an Indiana State Police press release, just before 7 p.m. Wednesday night, a northbound 2002 Ford Taurus crossed over the median and into the path of an oncoming southbound 2005 Honda Odyssey on Ind. 37 just north of Cragen Road.
The Ford Taurus carried five occupants, while the Honda carried four.
The pending further investigation should reveal why the Taurus crossed over the median and drove northbound into the southbound lanes.
The deceased are:
• Mathew Howard Chambers, 17, Brownsburg, driver of the Ford Taurus);
• Lucas Edwin Kenworthy, 18, Brownsburg, passenger in the Ford Taurus;
• Noah James Tex, 17, Brownsburg, passenger in the Ford Taurus; and
• Riley Davis Hurst, 17, Brownsburg, passenger in the Ford Taurus.
All notifications to family have been made.
The injured were all transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
They are:
• Ryan Michael Rickenbacker, 22, Brownsburg, passenger in the Ford Taurus;
• David H. Rose, 46, Bloomington, driver of the Honda;
• Kristy A. Kallback-Rose, 44, Bloomington, passenger in the Honda;
• Juvenile female, 10, Bloomington, passenger in the Honda; and
• Juvenile female, 7, Bloomington, passenger in the Honda.
All occupants in the Honda Odyssey were wearing seatbelts. Ryan Rickenbacker was the only occupant in the Taurus wearing his seatbelt.
The four who were fatally injured were not wearing seatbelts.
Agencies assisting Indiana State Police Trooper Richard Klun and Trooper Caleb Garvin were the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, the Martinsville Police Department, the Morgan County Fire Department, the Morgan County Ambulance Service and the Morgan County Coroner's Office.
