(BLOOMINGTON) - A man was arrested after he fled from police in a car and struck multiple vehicles along the Ind. 45/46 Bypass Sunday evening.
Around 7:15 p.m. Sunday, an Indiana University police officer attempted to pull over a blue Honda Civic with a temporary license plate for exceeding the posted speed limit near the Indiana University Bart Kaufman baseball field.
According to IU police Sgt. Shannon Bunger, the Honda's driver sped up "with no intention of slowing down."
Upon reaching the intersection of Ind. 45/46 Bypass and North Kinser Pike, the driver lost control and struck two stopped vehicles. He then exited his vehicle, fleeing on foot down the southern embankment of the road and past the Harley-Davidson of Bloomington dealership.
Bloomington police responded and assisted in the capture of the man in the area of the Hoosier Court Apartments.
Emergency medical services also responded to the scene.
An accident report was not available at press time.
