(SHOALS) - A Shoals man was arrested after police found a stolen vehicle on his property.
According to Martin County Sheriff Travis Roush, on the afternoon of November 23 police arrested 28-year-old Justin Truelove on charges of auto theft and possession of meth.
Sheriff Roush was following up a lead on several theft cases at 13279 West River Road and was looking for Roush. But when he knocked on the door no one would answer, but the sheriff could hear someone inside.
Sheriff Roush then went to the neighbor's home to confirm Truelove lived in the home. As the sheriff was leaving the neighbor's home he noticed a white, small-sized pickup in the woods.
As Roush entered the woods he was able to confirm it was a stolen Ford Ranger.
As Sheriff Roush got closer to the vehicle, a woman came out of the front door of the home. Sheriff Roush asked if Truelove was in the home.
At first the woman said no, but after being asked a second time she confirm Truelove was inside.
A short time later, Truelove came out of the home and he was arrested and taken to the Martin County Security Center.
In the meantime, Capt. Tony Dant secured the scene while Chief Deputy Josh Green secured a search warrant for the property.
Chief Deputy Greene, Loogootee Police Department Captain Jason Hennette and K9 Roxy arrived at the home to execute the warrant. K-9 Roxy alerted police to narcotics in a bedroom. Chief Deputy Green located a Sprite bottle with a substance inside that tested positive for meth.
