(JACKSON CO.) - Indiana Department of Transportation maintenance personnel from Bloomington Subdistrict units will provide traffic control for a moving milling operation impacting both lanes of U.S. Highway 50 next week between State Road 135 North in Jackson County and S.R. 446 in Lawrence County.
Mid America Milling Company of Jeffersonville has been contracted to grind down surface locations where aggregate loss has created a number of small areas with a low coefficient of friction. The milling will restore surface friction to those areas. Operations are slated from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
INDOT maintenance crews will provide flagging, trucking and clean-up services for the milling operation.
Motorists may encounter brief delays at work sites. They should be especially attentive while traveling between Medora and S.R. 446 where curves and hills provide sight-distance challenges.
