(BEDFORD) - A Williams woman was arrested early this morning after she allegedly stole more than $2,500 in items from Walmart.
Bedford police were called to Walmart just after 3 a.m.
When officers arrived they found 35-year-old Dusti Neff in the parking lot with two shopping carts near a pickup truck. She was being detained by a Lawrence County Police officer who was in the store when an employee noticed Neff allegedly stealing items.
"She had several items stacked in the passenger seat of the truck so much so they were to the roof of the truck," Parsley says. "There was clothing, a television and hygiene items. In the bed of the truck officers found more items and both carts were still filled with items."
According to Parsley, an employee working at a cash register told police that Neff was putting items in a cart and was throwing clothes on top of those items to conceal them.
Neff was then seen leaving the store without paying for any of the items.
"The total of stolen merchandise came to more than $2,500," Parsley says.
Neff was arrested on a Level 6 felony charge of theft. She is being held without bond because of previous arrest where she was released on her own recognizance.
According to court records, Neff was arrest on October 9, 2014. On that date she was arrested on warrants charging her with three counts of forgery, two counts of theft. Then on August 14 she was arrested on three warrants for petition to modify house arrest.
