(BLOOMINGTON) - A Department of Child Services case worker took a 15-month-old boy to safety after police say the boy’s mother failed sobriety tests after being pulled over on West 17th Street in Bloomington on Tuesday.
The child's mother, 24-year-old Shanee Love, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, neglect of a dependent and disorderly conduct.
According to a Bloomington police report, an officer stopped Love after she drove her vehicle across the center line and failed to stop at a stop sign in the area of West 17th Street and North Monroe Street at about 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say she failed several sobriety tests at the scene and later refused to take a breath-alcohol test at the police station.
A warrant was obtained for a blood draw for toxicology tests at a local hospital.
Love was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail.
