(SEYMOUR) - Seymour Police are not releasing much information after an 8-old-month boy was found inside a cold truck by a man on his way to work Monday morning.
According to police the infant has been reunited with some of his family members - but not his mother.
The infant was discovered around 10:30 a.m. Monday wrapped in a blanket in the backseat floorboard of the man's truck parked in the 300 block of Emerson Drive.
The man told police he was getting into his vehicle to go to work when he discovered the infant.
The temperature at the time were hovering around 7 degrees, with a windchill around 18 below zero.
The child, who was alert, but cold, was taken to Schneck Medical Center for treatment.
Police believe the infant's mother put the baby inside the man's truck.
She was found just before 10 a.m. after police responded to a possible burglary in the same block of Emerson Drive. Police found the woman lying on a porch of a home.
Police say she was acting erratically and was confused. She suffered what appeared to be frostbite to her feet. She was taken to Schneck Medical Center for treatment.
Police are still piecing together what happened and the case remains under investigation.
