(BROWN CO.) - A bachelor party in Brown County ended early Sunday morning after a man was stabbed.
Brown County police say 21-year-old David Valentin of Columbus stabbed 23-year-old Raymond Jones of Indianapolis after an argument in the 100 block of Nelson Ridge Road.
Police were called to the party around 2 a.m.
When police arrived they found Valentin standing at the end of the driveway. Jones was also in the driveway yelling and bleeding from his stomach. Officers also found a knife covered in blood in the driveway.
Police arrested Valentine, who refused to cooperate with police or tell them what happened. He is facing charges of battery resulting in serious bodily injury and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. He posted $7,500 bond and was released Sunday afternoon.
Jones was taken by ambulance to Columbus Regional Hospital where he was treated and released to Columbus Police because he was wanted warrant in Greenwood. He was released a short time later after police learned the warrant, from last September, was no longer valid.
Others attending the party told police they didn't know what started the argument, but the groom had taken Valentine outside to calm him down. That is when Jones came out and began yelling at Valentine, which escalated into a physical fight between the two men which ended in the kitchen of the home.
The bride told police she saw Jones punch Valentine just before Valentine pulled a knife and stabbed Jones.
Police found blood on the kitchen floor, on a rug and cabinets near the kitchen sink and there was a blood trail down the driveway. The bride also had blood on her face and in her hair.
