(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man called police after he was attacked while taking out his trash Friday morning.
The man called police reporting that he had been stabbed in the stomach after an altercation with a man who was also armed with pepper spray and a baseball bat.
The man was treated at the scene and then transported to a local hospital.
According to Bloomington Police the incident happened at 1:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Ridge Crest Court in Summit Pointe apartments.
Police say a 38-year-old man was taking out his trash and noticed a woman with a flashlight snooping around the trash containers. The man told the woman she needed to leave and that is when a man got out of vehicle and began yelling at him.
The man in the vehicle then attempted to spray mace at him, but missed and then attempted to hit him with a wooden baseball bat.
The man managed to take the bat away from the man and was able to flee. When he reached his apartment and called police he noticed he was bleeding from a stab wound.
Police are looking for a white male, weighing about 250 pounds, between .6-foot-2 to 6-foot-5 in height, with a full beard and who was wearing a camouflage jacket. .
