Dangerous Wind Chills Force Greene Co. Commissioners To Issue Travel Advisory

Last updated on Monday, January 18, 2016

(GREENE CO.) - Due to the dangerous wind chills Sunday night and Monday, Monday, travel in Greene County is now on an advisory status.

Greene County Board of Commissioner President, Nathan Abrams has move road travel status to level one advisory or a cautionary status. Level one states:

Advisory

The lowest level of local travel advisory, means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas...

"Things can happen so quick in the wind chills." Abrams said Sunday Night. "We are asking our citizens to use caution when traveling and when possible stay off the roads. Staying off the road also make it easier on our emergency responders not to have as many on the roads and can reduce accidents.

In addition, if in an accident in these dangerous wind chills it increases the risk to those involved till help arrives." Abrams concluded.
