(NASHVILLE) - A Nashville man died Thursday from hypothermia inside his home because he had no heat.
According to Brown County Coroner Earl Piper 72-year-old Ronald Rice was found inside his home on State Road 135 North just after 9 a.m. when a friend went to the home to pick Rice up Thursday to run errands.
The friend called police when he found Rice on the floor at the partially in a bathroom and hallway.
Piper says there was no heat on in the home and the carpet was soaked in water from a leaky water heater.
Officials believe Rice was putting down towels to soak up the water when became tired and lay down on the floor and just didn't wake up.
