(SEYMOUR) - The 32-year-old victim was not injured, but he gave the suspect $30 once the knife was displayed.
The robbery happened outside of Casey's General Store on North O'Brien Street just after 8 p.m.
The victim told police he was putting air in the tires of his vehicle when another man walked up to him and asked for a cigarette. As the victim reached into his pocket to get the cigarette the man pulled a knife and pointed it at the victim asking for all his money.
The victim handed the man $30 and the man fled on foot heading east.
Police searched for the man but were unable to find him.
The man is believed to be white, between the age of 25 and 30 and 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He also has a goatee and was wearing a Carhartt-type jacket at the time.
Police weren't able to review video surveillance because the convenience store does not have video cameras on the outside of the building.
If anyone has information about this incident, they are asked to call Seymour Police Department at (812) 522-1234.
Police are warning people to be on guard while they are outside and to check their surroundings.
