(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested after Mitchell Police found him loading his pickup truck with stolen items he took from a warehouse in the 500 block of West Brook Street Monday morning.
Police went to the warehouse at 10:47 a.m. after they received a call from the owner who received a call from a neighbor reporting a man was stealing items from his warehouse and putting them in a white Ford pickup.
Mitchell Police Chief Steve Blair says 43-year-old Henry Blake II was hauling the stolen items to Oak Street and placing them in the back of his pickup truck.
When two Mitchell Police officers and Chief Blair arrived, Blake attempted to hide from police. But officers were able to track him from his footprints in the snow and located him hiding in the warehouse.
Blake told police he was out of work and needed the money to buy some of his prescription medication.
Chief Blair says officers recovered two hand carts, trash cans and barrels full of copper and wires.
