(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested Tuesday on a warrant after he allegedly admitted to police he molested a six-year-old girl.
According to a probable cause affidavit, 50-year-old Roger D. Terrell was arrested on one felony count of child molesting.
The child's mother filed the complaint against Terrell on January 3. The mother says the incident happened while she and her daughter were visiting the child's grandmother.
According to court records, Terrell wanted to watch cartoons with the girl in a bedroom. While the two were in the room, Terrell would shut the door. The mother would then reopen the door not wanting Terrell in the room with her child alone behind closed doors. She said this happened numerous times throughout the night.
At one point the child came out of the bedroom and told her mother that Terrell had molested her.
When questioned by police Terrell denied the allegations. He then agreed to take a polygraph test. When Indiana State police Detective Dan Gress went to administer the test, Terrell allegedly admitted to molesting the child.
