(BEDFORD) - A Mitchell woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Ind. 37 and State Road 158 Wednesday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, a deputy was parked in a parking lot near the intersection of Ind. 37 and State Road 158 when he heard a loud crash and noticed a vehicle traveling south on Ind. 37 go over an embankment.
According to police, 68-year-old Marilyn Neely of Mitchell was traveling south on Ind. 37 in the right lane when all of the sudden her 2006 Ford Focus was struck by another vehicle.
Neely told police she was 100 percent sure she had the green light to proceed through the intersection.
However 21-year-old Wesley Dielman of Louisville, KY told police that he had the green light as he was traveling northbound on Ind. 3 and was in the turn lane to turn west on State Road 158. Dielman said he turned and the next thing he knew struck the Focus with his 2002 Chevrolet Impala.
After speaking with officers, Dielman then began to second guess on if he had the green light or not.
Dielman was not injured, but Neely complained of neck pain and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
