(SPRINGVILLE) - A Springville woman was injured after she swerved to miss a deer and her vehicle flipped.
The accident happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday on Ind. 54 West, near Reuter Lane.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 39-year-old Susan Furance of Springville was traveling east on Ind. 54 when a deer entered the road. Furance swerved to miss the deer. She then over-corrected causing her 2010 Chevrolet Malibu to travel 70 feet off the south side of the road and then another 45 feet down a steep embankment into a ditch where the vehicle then flipped end-over-end landing on its top against a large culvert at the intersection of Ind. 54 and Reuter Lane.
A passing motorist stopped and helped Furance out of the vehicle.
Furance complained of chest and back pain and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Furance was mailed a citation for driving while her driver's license was suspended.
An IU Health Hospital ambulance, Perry Volunteer Fire Department and Bedford Police officers, assisted at the scene
