(MITCHELL) - Teresa Reynolds is the new chief operations officer for Southern Indiana Center for Independent Living. She is replacing Al Tolbert who retired.
She will guide 125-employees at the Mitchell agency to assist people with disabilities so they can live independently in their homes.
SICIL began in the early 1990s as an advocate for people with disabilities and provides avenues for those who suffer with disabilities.
Its independent living services are available in eight counties, including Lawrence, Orange, Martin and Washington, and its home care services are available in 41 counties, from south of Indianapolis to the Ohio River.
The not-for-profit is funded through various state and federal sources, including Social Service Block Grant dollars, Medicaid, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
