(NASHVILLE) - Two Brown County Sheriff’s Department deputies were injured after their police vehicles collided near Nashville Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, Deputy Scott Bowling and Lt. Brad Stogsdill, who are brothers, were responding to a report of a mother and child being struck by a car in IGA parking lot in Nashville around 2 p.m. when Lt. Stogsdill's vehicle struck the rear of Deputy Bowling's car sending both vehicles down an embankment.
According to police, the officers had been called off the IGA incident - because the woman was unharmed and the child only suffered minor injuries. Deputy Bowling turned off his flashing lights and siren and started to slow as he traveled west on Ind. 46 near Parkview Drive. But Lt. Stogsdill, who was behind Deputy Bowling didn't see the police vehicle slow in time and his Ford F-150 collided into the rear of Deputy Bowling's Ford Explorer SUV.
Officials say both officers complained of pain and were taken by ambulance to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment.
Indiana State Police trooper Chris Griggs is investigating the accident.
