(BLOOMINGTON) - A Worthington man was arrested after he allegedly cut another man’s wrist during a dispute at a Bloomington apartment.
Bloomington police arrested 41-year-old Elijah Rochelle on felony charges of aggravated battery and criminal recklessness while armed with a deadly weapon.
Police were called around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday to 20th and Dunn streets after a report of a possible stabbing.
When police arrived, Rochelle told them he felt threatened by the victim. Rochelle told police he had lent the victim a knife to remove a plastic insert from a bottle of vodka. Rochelle then grabbed the victim's hand, disarmed him and swung the knife at the victim, cutting his wrist.
The victim left and went to the hospital.
When officers arrived at the apartment, they found blood in the parking lot.
Police later found Rochelle in the area of 15th and Dunn streets and transported him to the hospital, because he was highly intoxicated.
After being evaluated and released from the hospital, Rochelle was booked into the Monroe County Jail.
