(SPRINGVILLE) - A Bedford woman was arrested Tuesday on a warrant charging her with dealing marijuana.
According to a probable cause affidavit, an Indiana State Trooper watched 19-year-old Kanisha Bultman of Bedford pulled into the Marathon gas station parking lot at State Road 37 and Old State Road 37 on December 14. A male juvenile also was in the vehicle.
The trooper had received a tip earlier that Bultman was selling marijuana to other teens.
A second vehicle at the gas station was driven by a male who the trooper recognized. The trooper knew that the other driver actively sold controlled substances in Monroe County.
The trooper witnessed a passenger from the second vehicle get into Bultman's vehicle and saw what he believed was a drug transaction between the male juvenile and the person who entered Bultman's vehicle.
Police followed Bultman's vehicle and pulled her over because she was speeding. When the troopers approached the vehicle, they smelled the odor of burnt marijuana.
A plastic bag containing marijuana was found under the passenger's seat and marijuana was also found on the floor of the vehicle.
Bultman told the troopers that she and the boy smoked marijuana earlier in the evening. She also admitted that the boy sold marijuana to a person earlier at the station's parking lot. Officers found $300 cash in his pocket.
Bultman was arrested Monday afternoon on a warrant charging her with dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana less than 30 grams and maintaining a common nuisance. She posted a bond of $755 and was released later that day.
