(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested early Monday morning after he allegedly injured a woman during a domestic fight.
Police arrested 38-year-old Joshua Fish of Bedford at 11:53 p.m. Sunday on charges of strangulation and domestic battery in the presence of a minor.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham, police went to a home in the 380 block of Trenton Circle after police received a call from the woman's son saying he had received a message from his mother that she was being physically abused by her husband. The caller said Fish was choking and hitting her.
"Officers and Indiana State Police arrived at the home and spoke with the victim, a 43 year old female, who answered the door," Branham wrote in an email.
She invited officers into the residence, where they found Fish passed out on the couch.
"The victim advised that he was extremely intoxicated and had passed out after he pulled her hair and choked her," Branham says.
The woman told police she had video recorded the incident because Fish had injured her in the past.
"Officers were able to view the video and confirm that Joshua Fish was on video wearing the same clothing and committing the offenses of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and strangulation."
The woman's 7-year-old son was home during the incident.
