(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested Sunday after police found her stumbling around Bedford intoxicated.
Bedford Police officers arrested 49-year-old Debra Turpin of Bedford on charges of public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the Bedford Fire Station on H Street after a report of a possible intoxicated woman stumbling around on the property at the fire station.
When police arrived the woman had left.
A short time later officer were flagged down by a resident at 20th and H streets reporting the intoxicated woman had been in her driveway.
Officers searched the area for the woman and found her near the fire station.
When the woman saw police she took off running.
Officers were able to catch the woman who then became both verbally and physically abusive with the officers.
