(COLUMBUS) - Police arrested a Bloomington man in connection with an armed bank robbery in Columbus.
Police arrested 49-year-old Stephen M. Lee Wednesday morning, about 12 hours after the Main Source Bank at 529 Washington Street in Columbus was robbed.
Columbus police arrived at the bank around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after a man with gun walked in and handed a note to the teller demanding money.
The man got away with some cash, and police released surveillance images of the crime.
Police tracked the suspect to Bloomington and received assistance from the Bloomington Police Department SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiators to execute a search warrant at a home in the 3700 block of Mesa Drive.
Lee was taken into custody around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on two counts of armed robbery. He was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail.
Police say Lee may also be responsible for a second robbery in Columbus at the Jackson County Bank on November 2, 2015.
