(BROWNSTOWN) - Brownstown Volunteer firefighters arrived to find smoke bellowing out of a home at 2382 North County Road 260 East Tuesday afternoon.
The owner, Karen Black, was not home when the fire started shortly after 3 p.m.
Traffic on U.S. 50 was restricted while firefighters battled the blaze.
The fire caused extensive damage to the home.
The cause remains under investigation.
