(LAWRENCE CO.) - The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance/Tax Counseling for Elderly program is set to begin a new season of preparing taxes for low income and elderly for the tax year 2015.
Sessions will be conducted beginning Monday, Feb. 8 through April 9 at the Bedford Public Library and Mitchell Community Public Library.
The program offers free tax return preparation, electronic filing, and a refund can be electronically deposited into a checking or savings account if a refund is due.
Sessions are weeknights and Saturdays and by appointment only.
Call either the Bedford Library at (812) 275 - 4471 or the Mitchell Library at (812) 849-2412 to make an
appointment.
The program is undertaking an aggressive schedule and volunteers are always needed to make this program a success. Training materials, certification and assistance are available to prepare the volunteer to create returns.
