(MITCHELL) - Hoosier Hometown Live, a radio variety show filled with down-home music, tall tales and a variety of other nonsense, will be performed in front of a live audience at the historic Mitchell Opera House.
The show will be tonight at 7 p.m.
Hoosier Hometown Live is packed with old-time excitement and new-time creativity. Local musical talent inspires the audience to tap their toes and often sing along. Voice actors and sound effects performers spin tales of historical fiction including some downright lies to improve the plot. Engaging interviews showcase real life characters, and we mean characters, who talk about their roles in the hometown history of local communities.
Hosted by Gary Spear and Mark Bryant, you'll love Hoosier Hometown Live the way you love Sunday lunch at grandma's house; all the delicious treats with no personal effort whatsoever. You don't even have to wash the dishes afterwards. Just show up and enjoy!
In this premiere show of Hoosier Hometown Live, the Lick Creek Band will charm the audience with their heartfelt songs while Mayor John Williams joins the cast to share some memories of his time as the mayor of Bedford.
Larry Hollan adds ambiance with live background music from his seat at the piano as Imojean Dedrick and Tom Bostic lend their special voice talents to the scripts.
The sound effects table will feature Matthew Canada and Austin Malone's creativity and wit, with production management by Curt Parsley and Jordan Cory.
The show is produced by the Mitchell Community Public Library in cooperation with Hoosier Uplands, Mitchell Opera House, and 1340 AM WBIW, which will broadcast the show live to radio listeners.
Tickets are only $5 and can be purchased from cast members, by visiting or calling the library at (812) 849-2412 or by going online to www.mitchelloperahouse.com and clicking the Event/Tickets link.
