(NASHVILLE) - Indiana Department of Transportation officials met contractor representatives and town officials this week to discuss a $695,596 asphalt pavement project on Ind. 135 through Nashville.
E&B Paving, of Bloomington, plans to begin concrete work at curb ramps and sidewalks in early March. Pavement repairs and resurfacing on the mile between Ind. 46 and Ridgeway Drive should start April 1.
The state's contact calls for updating ADA curb ramps to current compliance standards. Sections of deteriorating sidewalks will be replaced before work on Ind. 135's mainline begins.
Asphalt patching will preceded milling and paving operations along the one-mile section of north-south highway.
There will be single-lane restrictions as needed, but no complete closures. Motorist will be directed around work sites by flaggers.
The contract completion date is June 30, but INDOT contractors hope to finish mainline paving before the May 7 Spring Blossom Parade. Of course, construction timelines are subject to Spring weather.
Traffic count for Ind. 135 at Nashville is 11,060 vehicles per day.
