(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Council voted to hire two new county employees.
According to the council meeting minutes, the council voted to hired a new janitor after the county had received some complaints from the public and personnel about the cleanliness of the courthouse and Courthouse Plaza.
The full-time janitor will float between the courthouse and Courthouse Plaza to help get much needed cleaning done.
The new janitor's salary of $26,289 will come from the county's adjusted gross income tax fund.
The council also appropriated $5,000 to allow Lawrence County Superior Court I Judge Michael Robbins to hire a part-time worker to help handle the increasing paperwork load being generated from drug abuse cases.
