(BLOOMINGTON) - The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department will auction off old and unclaimed guns from their evidence room Saturday.
The guns will be sold to the highest bidder during a public auction hosted by Estate & Downsizing Specialists at their facility at 701 S. Ransom Lane in Bloomington.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m.; the auction starts at 11 a.m.
Members of Bloomington Home Personal Security Store are assisting with the auction and will conduct background checks for those who purchase guns on site.
Those interested in purchasing handguns should bring valid Indiana driver's licenses.
The firearms for sale can also be viewed on the security store's website at www.bloomingtonhpss.com.
Funds raised from the auction will be used for training and equipment.
