(IRELAND) - An Otwell man was injured after his bicycle was struck by a car on County Road 150 North, near Ireland, Saturday afternoon.
According to a Dubois County Sheriff's report, 18-year-old Noah Cox was traveling east on County Road 150 North in a 2002 Honda Accord and was traveling behind 58-year-old Ronald Watson of Otwell, who was on his bicycle.
Cox told police he saw a vehicle pass Watson so he decided to also pass.
He passed Watson and turned into a private drive near the entrance to the Superior Ag Resources Co-op.
Cox told police he thought he had cleared the bicycle, but when he looked back he saw Watson on the ground.
According to police, the rear tire Cox's Honda Accord struck Watson's bike causing him to crash.
Watson complained of neck, arm and chest pain and was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Assisting at the scene were officers with the Jasper Police Department, Ireland Volunteer Fire Department firefighters and Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services.
