(BEDFORD) - The city of Bedford will host a public meeting to present information on a bicycle and pedestrian master plan to connect Bedford with Mitchell and Oolitic.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. tonight at StoneGate Arts & Education Center, in the Northwest Assembly room at 405 I Street.
Tuesday's meeting is the second public meeting on the master plan.
In November, Lawrence County residents studied maps and offered their input on possible pedestrian routes within Bedford and also routes that would make it possible to bike from Bedford to Oolitic and Bedford to Mitchell.
Those ideas were submitted to the consulting firm Remenschneider Associates, which reviewed the three plans and will present one plan from the ideas tonight.
Officials say, the overall goal is to develop a long-range plan to promote more healthful activities and link the communities within Lawrence County together.
Remenschneider also conducted an on online survey for residents to provide their input on walking and biking trails.
