(ODON) - The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs and RADIUS Indiana announced the second public forum for the Naval Support Activity Crane Joint Land Use Study is Monday, February 22.
For Greene, Daviess, Lawrence and Martin Counties, the open forum will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Westgate Academy located at 13598 East WestGate Drive, Odon.
According to a press release, the public will be able to review and comment on the compatibility issues that have been identified for the land use study for NSA Crane and its Lake Glendora Test Facility.
"Input on additions and feedback on identified issues is welcome and encouraged. The public will also provide input on the prioritization of issues," stated the release.
This forum will encompass a number of counties including: Daviess, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, and Sullivan, and various agencies and organizations in the region engaged in the land use study to address compatibility planning with Crane.
The Joint Land Use Study will assess 25 compatibility factors and recommend strategies to address issues based on these factors..
One of the main reasons for the forum is to develop a plan that is responsive to local needs, input from the community is essential.
"The public is encouraged to join us at the forum to learn more about this planning study and provide input on the issues. This forum will be conducted in three locations for your convenience. Issues specific to each region will be discussed at each regional meeting," stated the release.
