(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour man accused of having sex with teenage girls on several occasions in 2015 and early this year surrendered to police Wednesday.
According to a probable cause affidavit, 22-year-old Brock Cole Mitchell admitted to Seymour Detective Troy Munson during an interview on January 25 that he had sex with one teenage girl a maximum of 10 times and as many as three times with a second teen. One of the teens was 13 at the time, leading to the child molesting charge.
Mitchell is facing a Level 1 felony count of child molesting by a person 21 or older; four Level 4 felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor; and one Level 6 felony count of child solicitation.
That teen told police Mitchell had sexual intercourse with her several times between February and December of 2015 at a home in the Seymour area. That teen also told investigators Brock had sex with two other teens.
Mitchell was taken to the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown on Wednesday afternoon and was booked on the felony counts. He was being held without bond pending his initial hearing in Jackson Circuit Court.
According to court records, on June 15, 2015 Mitchell pleaded guilty to a Level 6 felony charge of criminal confinement in an unrelated case in Jackson Circuit Court. At that time, Jackson Circuit Judge Richard W. Poynter sentenced him to one year in jail and suspended 361 days. Mitchell received two days credit time and was ordered to enroll in and complete an anger management program.
