(SPRINGVILLE) - A Springville man was arrested after a domestic fight turned physical Saturday.
Lawrence County Police officers were called to a home at 179 Airy Hills Drive just before 2 p.m. about a domestic dispute in progress.
When officers arrived they found a woman with her children at the home and learned that the suspect had fled on foot into the woods behind the home.
The woman told police she and her husband, 32-year-old Jeremy Hall, had began arguing around 1:30 p.m. after he started yelling at her in a back bedroom. The fight continued in the living room area and that is when her husband pushed her down on the couch.
She told police that she stood up and pushed her husband back and that is when he allegedly slapped her with an open palm across the right side of her face under her eye. The result left a red mark and bruising.
The woman told police that two of their three children, ages 9 and 2, where in the hallway just off the living room and could hear the fighting.
After being slapped the woman took the children out to her car and dialed 911.
The woman told police there was a history of domestic violence between her and her husband.
Police found Hall and he was arrested on a charge of domestic battery in the presence of a minor and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
