(BEDFORD) - A driver and her passenger were arrested after crashing into Kindred Spirits at 3314 John Williams Boulevard Thursday night and then fled the scene.
An employee inside the store, 49-year-old Leisa Hospkins of Bedford, suffered minor injuries.
Police arrested the driver 51-year-old Holly Richardson and her husband, both of Bedford, on charges of resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
According to a Bedford Police report, Hospkins was sitting at the back of the store with her back to the window, when just after 9 p.m. a vehicle came crashing through the building and struck Hospkins.
Hospkins was thrown from her chair and to the floor. She suffered minor bleeding to her head and was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
Officers later found Richardson and her husband at their home and they were arrested. They told police they left the scene because they were scared.
