(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested after the lost prevention team at Walmart caught them walking out of the store without paying for some of their items.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the store at 10 p.m. after the lost prevention officer reported they had stopped two people with stolen merchandise.
Police arrested 38-year-old Travis Collins and 39-year-old Sharon Morris, both of Bedford, on a charge of theft.
According to police, both Collins and Morris had placed several items in their cart and were checking out at the self-checkout counter but failed to scan several of the items and then attempted to walk out of the store when they were stopped by a lost prevention officer.
