(WASHINGTON) - A Washington man was arrested in Illinois on a kidnapping charge.
According to police, 28-year-old Blake McGillem of Washington is being held in the Richland County Jail without bond.
On January 31st, the Olney Police Department received a call about a missing 12-year-old girl. After a massive online alert was sent out the girl returned home the next day.
According to Richland County Sheriff Andy Hines, the investigation led police to a home in Washington, Indiana.
Richland County police say McGillem was on his way back to Washington when he was stopped and taken into custody in Lawrence County, Illinois.
He was arrested on a charge of kidnapping.
Police were unwilling to release any further details in the case.
Olney City Police and the Richland County State's Attorney Office have an ongoing joint investigation into the case.
