(BLOOMINGTON) - A 78-year-old Bloomington woman died in a mobile home fire at Arlington Valley Mobile Home Park Tuesday night.
Officials have not yet released the name of the woman.
The State Fire Marshal and firefighters were on the scene until late Wednesday afternoon attempting to determine what started the fatal fire.
Bloomington Fire Department Sgt. Brandon Hudson said no foul play is suspected.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at 1600 N. Willis Drive Lot No. 76, at 8:33 p.m. Tuesday. While crews were en route, they received reports of a person possibly trapped inside.
When firefighters arrived more than half of the mobile home was engulfed in flames.
Firefighters who entered the burning home were confronted with heavy flames and smoke. It took firefighters several attempts before they could gain entry and find the woman.
It took firefighters around 15 minutes to put out the blaze.
The Monroe County Coroner's Office and Bloomington Police Department are assisting with the death investigation.
