(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Saturday morning after he allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat and pushed her.
Police arrested 59-year-old Bradley Bartlett of Bedford on charges of domestic battery.
Police were called to the home at 11:56 p.m. Friday after a 35-year-old woman called police.
Officers arrived just after midnight.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham, the couple got into an argument over a movie when Bartlett allegedly grabbed her by the throat, pushed her up against the refrigerator, making it difficult for the woman to breathe.
"When she went into a another room he started throwing beer cans at her," Branham added.
The woman left the room and went to a bedroom to sleep.
That is when Bartlett went into the bedroom and started kicking her until he knocked her onto the floor.
Branham says the woman suffered red marks and bruising during the incident.
