(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomfield man died after his jeep struck a guardrail and flipped on its side early Saturday morning near the intersection of Kirksville Road and South Harmony Road.
According to Monroe County Sheriff's Department press release, 25-year-old David McNeal, who was not wearing his seat belt during the incident, died at the scene.
Emergency crews were called to the crash at 1:23 a.m.
Police say McNeal was traveling too fast in his 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he lost control, struck a guard rail, causing the Jeep to flip on its side in the middle of South Harmony Road.
Members of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Monroe County Coroner's Office, Van Buren Fire Department and IU Health Bloomington Hospital Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
