(MITCHELL) - A 10-year-old girl was injured after a two-vehicle accident Friday at the intersection of Ind. 37 and U.S. 50 West.
According to a Lawrence County Police Department report, 22-year-old Benjamin N. Claxton of Paoli was traveling south on State Road 37 near State Road 50 West in a red 2004 Ford Focus when he reached to turn the radio station. When he looked up, the traffic light had turned red. He braked immediately, causing the vehicle to slide. His Focus slid into a silver 2012 Kia Rio driven by 43-year-old Melissa J. Epping of Mitchell.
A girl who was a passenger in Epping's vehicle suffered a minor head injury and was treated at the scene by an Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital ambulance crew.
