(SALEM) - A man who was delivering logs to a sawmill was injured when a log fell from the truck and struck him Tuesday morning.
According to Washington County Sheriff's Department 51-year-old Bruce Cole Jr. of Hardinsburg was delivering a load of logs to Middleton Sawmill and Logging on South Olive Branch Road when he was injured.
Police say Cole had parked on a downhill slope and was taking off the boom straps from the logs when one of the logs rolled off the top of the pile. Cole attempted to run but one end of the log struck him in the back knocking him into the rear tire of the trailer.
The log then fell across both his lower legs.
