(HUNTINGBURG) - A Huntingburg man was arrested after he fled from police and then his SUV got stuck in the mud.
Huntingburg police were called to 8th and Van Buren streets around 2 p.m. Monday after a report of an SUV stuck in the mud. But before getting stuck, the SUV had caused property damage to a parking lot and yard of a commercial property nearby.
When police arrived with their emergency lights activated, the driver was able to unstuck the vehicle and flee.
The driver, 18-year-old Anthony Allbritton, continued to travel west on Eight Street to Jackson Street. The chase then continued to Ninth Street and Cor De Lane where Albritton lost control of the SUV and drove over an embankment into some railroad tracks.
Police say Allbritton and his passenger got out of the vehicle. The passenger stopped and surrendered to police, Allbritton fled on foot. He was apprehended a short time later near Street and Cor De Lane.
Allbritton was arrested on charges of resisting arrest with a motor vehicle,criminal recklessness and operating a motor vehicle without never being licensed.
