(BLOOMFIELD) - A Jasonville man who was arrested after sending inappropriate photos to a teen has pleaded guilty to the crimes and was sentenced Tuesday morning.
According to court records, 24-year-old Tanner Wilson pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor charge of possession of child pornography and a Level 5 felony count of child exploitation in exchange 17 other felony counts were dropped.
Wilson was arrested last November after an Elkhart woman told Jasonville Police that she found sexually-explicit images from Wilson on her son's social media.
During an interview with police Wilson admitted to sending and receiving inappropriate photos as well as having sexually-explicit conversations with the teen for several years.
Wilson was sentenced to 238 days in Greene County Jail with credit for 119 days on the possession of child pornography charge. He will also serve four years in the Indiana Department of Corrections on the child exploitation charge with one year suspended.
The two sentences will be served consecutively, or one after the other. After his release he will serve one year of probation and ordered to have no-contact with the victim. He was ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years which stipulates he can have no Internet access during that time.
Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw stressed the importance of parents monitoring their child's online presence and be vigilant about their children's on-line communications.
