(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Clerk Myron Rainey is looking for poll workers for the May 3 Primary Election.
These are paid positions and include two meals. Each worker will be allocated a meal allowance of $13.50.
The council approved a recommendation by Rainey to elevate salaries for poll workers. A judge's compensation rises from $65 to $95 per day and a clerk's pay goes from $65 to $75.
An inspector's pay remains at $110, but a $25 stipend has been added for training.
The positions are also available for those 16-years-old and older.
Everyone must attend a training session the Saturday before the election.
If interested in becoming a poll worker contact Rainey at the voter registration office.
