(JASPER) - A Loogootee man was arrested after police say he tried to steal a knife and a pair of sunglasses from Walmart.
Police arrested 45-year-old Thomas Carrico Sunday night after Walmart security witnessed him take a knife out of the packaging and place it in his pocket.
Jasper police located the knife during a pat down and also found a pair of sunglasses with the price tag ripped off.
Carrico told officers he was going to pay for items, but when asked how he was going to pay for them without the price tags and packaging, Carrico allegedly told officers the items slipped out of their packaging and into his pocket.
Walmart store personnel say they also caught Carrico on video taking a watch.
