(BEDFORD) - Police arrested a Mitchell man on meth charges after responding to an accident.
Police arrested 35-year-old Eric Holt on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia and he was cited for operating a vehicle with no insurance and false and fictitious registrations.
At 2 p.m. Thursday, Bedford Police were called to the area of Ind. 37 and 35th Street and found a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville over the embankment and into the woods.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, Holt was texting and driving, crossed the center line and swerved to miss an on-coming vehicle, causing him to lose control of the car and go over the embankment and into a wooded area.
When police arrived they found a metal spoon with meth residue in the car and a syringe behind the car's visors.
