(ORLEANS) - The Orleans High School Academic Team won its seventh consecutive PLAC Academic Bowl championship on March 15.
This was the school's 11th conference title in the past 13 years.
Crawford County, who hosted the contest, finished second, followed by Perry Central, Springs Valley, West Washington and Mitchell.
Orleans team members received gold medals in science and social studies and finished second in fine arts, English and interdisciplinary. The social studies team consisting of Matthew Ross, Andy McFarland, Ethan Radcliff and Nikki Moon correctly answered all 25 questions to set a new school record.
The Bulldogs will be back in action at the area competition at Austin High School on April 19.
The team is coached by Lori DeWitt, Leah Morgan, Natasha Guthrie and Kristina Hole and features McFarland, Ross, Ethan Radcliff, Moon, Makenna Purlee, Alex Robinson, Claire Hester, Mariah Hammond, Lexi Hughes, Makenna Hall, Lauren Dibert, Jacob Pinney, Michael Holsapple, Nick Hester, Caty Carlisle, Annie Johnson, Jailynne Radcliff, Owen Jenkins, Duncan Gerkin and Hunter Morgan.
